Dr. Gary Morse, Pastor
Pastor Gary was born and raised in Jackson, TN, graduating from Jackson High School. He and his wife, Donna, have two grown children. His education includes: Bachelor of Science from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock; Master of Health Care Administration from the University of Mississippi; Master of Ministry from Freed-Hardeman University, Master of Divinity from Memphis Theological Seminary; and Doctor of Ministry from Memphis Theological Seminary.
Before being called into ordained ministry in the United Methodist Church, Pastor Gary spent 23 years in the field of hospital administration, working in hospitals in Tennessee, Georgia, and Mississippi. He also served as Administrator at Regional Inter-Faith Association and as Director of Servant Ministries at Northside United Methodist Church in Jackson. From 2003 – 2009 Gary served as Pastor of Bemis United Methodist Church in south Jackson, TN. He serves as the Memphis Conference Advocate for Child Poverty Ministries and World Hunger; Chairman of the Wesley Foundation of the University of Memphis/Lambuth; member of the Lambuth Fund Board; Community Outreach Committee of Regional Inter-Faith Association; Community Spiritual Director for the West Tennessee Chrysalis Community, and he is also the Chairman of the Community Advisory Board for the TN Department of Children Services for Madison County.
Pastor Gary describes his passion as helping to create ‘passionate worship,’ preaching, and making disciples of Christ.
Adam and Beth Ann Simpson, Directors of Youth and Children Ministries
Adam is gifted and experienced in the roll of working with children and youth. He has served, in the past, as Youth Director at First UMC in Jackson. Adam is a graduate of Lambuth University where he played basketball and was Mr. Lambuth. Adam has a Certificate of Youth Ministry from the Center for Youth Ministry Training. He is a seventh grade social studies teacher and basketball coach at Rose Hill School. Adam has a passion for guiding youth and children on their Christian journeys.
Beth Ann is married to Adam. She has a passion for planning, organizing, implementing and communicating. She has served in the past helping to direct children and youth ministries at First UMC in Jackson. Beth Ann is a Lambuth University graduate. She is presently the Director of Student Services at the University of Memphis/Lambuth. Beth Ann has been a Missionary Team Leader to Uganda, Africa where she lead a group of six women to work at an orphanage of 400+ children.
Trish Loyd, Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper
Trish is a dedicated Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper with many years of experience in office management and accounting. She displays a strong work ethic while maintaining a strong attention to detail. Trish supports staff, committee chairs and members of Lambuth Memorial by providing information and assistance regarding services, events, programs, financial and building needs. She provides competent and creative communication management through the use of letters, documents, newsletters, Facebook, email, the church website and Calling Post Communications. Trish is married to Tommy Loyd. They have two grown and married children and three small grandchildren. She is active in the Emmaus Community, leads a weekly Bible Study at the Care Center, a local shelter and rehab facility for homeless women and their children, and enjoys being involved in church missions and outreach.
